O little town of Bethlehem & Candour News Update #8

O little town of Bethlehem,

How still we see thee lie!

Above thy deep and dreamless sleep

The silent stars go by.

Yet in thy dark streets shineth

The everlasting Light;

The hopes and fears of all the years

Are met in thee to-night.

As we rush towards Christmas it is perhaps timely to remind our selves of the situation today in the birth place of Jesus Christ. The above image was painted by the famous artist Banksy. He certainly understands the situation in Palestine. I was surprised to find that he owns "The Walled Off Hotel" in Bethlehem!

Bethlehem City, some 6 miles south of Jerusalem with a population of 25,000, is now surrounded by Jewish settlements. Many of their occupants being members of the most aggressive and strange orthodox cults transplanted to Palestine from Khazakhstan via New York.

Towering walls and militarized fences now encircle Bethlehem, turning the 4,000 year old city into a virtual prison for its Palestinian Christian and Muslim citizens. Bethlehem has only three gates to the outside world, all tightly controlled by zionist occupation forces.

The zionists have confiscated almost all of the agricultural land in the area for their illegal settlements, making it impossible for Palestinian farmers to continue tending their land. The fields where shepherds once watched their flocks are being filled by brutalist housing blocks. The roads blocked to the descendants of those shepherds.

Remember Bethlehem and the zionist slaughter in the Holy Land this Christmas or Yuletide. It is the same enemy that murdered hundreds of British servicemen: Visit
